British footballer Ched Evans, who was convicted of raping a woman in a hotel room, has said he is “determined to continue the fight” to clear his name and return to playing.

BBC broadcaster Michael Buerk has complained that the “shift in the balance of power between the sexes” has gone too far, saying “life is now lived in accordance with women’s rules”.
