The heartbroken family of murdered student nurse Karen Buckley have spoken of their deep gratitude for the huge outpouring of sympathy and support they received since her disappearance and death in Glasgow two months ago.

Cork County Council has opened books of condolence in memory of Karen Buckley and is to write to the Scottish police and the local authority in Glasgow thanking them for the professionalism and for the support the city’s people showed her family.

The university where Karen Buckley began her nursing studies is today honouring the memory of a popular graduate whose “main aim in life was to help people”.
