A GP group in the mid-west has expressed outrage over a HSE advert announcing its plans to end 24-hour A&E services at Nenagh General Hospital.

THE HSE has a stubborn unthinking, uncaring mind-set of “plough on regardless” in relation to the transfer of services from hospitals in Ennis and Nenagh to the Mid-West Regional in Limerick, a committee representing the GPs of north Tipperary and Clare has claimed.

THE 128 GPs who form the Shannondoc co-op serving 260,000 patients in Clare, Co Limerick and north Tipperary will ballot this week on a boycott of primary care teams (PCTs).
