Pakistan’s elections are likely to be delayed by several weeks, despite demands by Benazir Bhutto’s party and other politicians they go ahead as planned.

Benazir Bhutto’s 19-year-old son was chosen today to succeed her as chairman of her opposition party, extending Pakistan’s most famous political dynasty.

Benazir Bhutto’s husband has asked the United Nations and British Government to investigate her assassination after it was announced he would take-over joint leadership of his wife’s party together with their 19-year-old son.
