The son of train robber Ronnie Biggs was today marking his 27th birthday with an appeal to the Home Secretary to reduce his father’s sentence on compassionate grounds.

Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs was in a stable condition today after having an operation to insert a feeding tube into his stomach.

Ronnie Biggs is due to appear before a Magistrates Court in London later today after he was arrested following 35 years on the run in Brazil.

The way was paved for train robber Ronnie Biggs to return to Britain after the Government issued him with an emergency passport.
