The last of the four American Olympic swimmers involved in a highly-publicised incident at a Rio petrol station is on his way back to the US.

US Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has apologised for his behaviour surrounding a late-night incident at a Rio de Janeiro petrol station, saying he should have been more “careful and candid” about how he described what happened.

American swimmers Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz were removed from a flight to the US by the Brazilian authorities, the United States Olympic Committee said.
