Garda raids on the 1,000-seater Rock Bingo hall in Togher were blamed by the proprietor for putting off big charities from holding their fundraising events at the premises at the High Court in Cork yesterday.

ATTEMPTS to finally kick start a super-bingo venture which has been the subject of an ongoing legal row between its operators and gardaí were successful last night, despite the arrival of gardaí with a search warrant after the games had begun.

THE Cork bingo hall raided by gardaí last Tuesday has been forced to close yet again due to the threat of another raid — and may not reopen before November 21.

PLANS to operate charity fundraising games at the Rock Bingo Centre in Togher have been dogged by controversy for a number of weeks.
