The Czech president has asked Andrej Babis to try to form a new government after the populist billionaire's centrist movement won parliamentary elections.

Slovakia's constitutional court has ordered a lower court to review claims that the man who hopes to be the Czech Republic's next prime minister collaborated with the Czechoslovak communist-era secret police.

The prime minister of the Czech Republic plans to formally submit the resignation of his government in the second half of May.
