The father of one of the men on trial for murdering honeymooner Michaela McAreavey in Mauritius has been accused of lying in the witness box to save his son.

One of the men accused of the murder of Michaela McAreavey allegedly traded favours for a hotel access card that would allow him to steal from guests, his trial has heard.

Four days into the trial and the judge had clearly had enough.
