ASTON ‘Family Man’ Barrett, bass player in Bob Marley’s band The Wailers, failed yesterday in his battle for a multimillion-pound slice of the late reggae legend’s royalties.

The man who signed Bob Marley today played down the contribution of his backing band, the Wailers, who are claiming around £60m (€87.2m) of the reggae legend’s estate.

ASTON “Family Man” Barrett, equally renowned for his prowess as reggae bass player as he is for fathering 52 children, started a court fight yesterday to lay claim to about €85 million of the Jamaican legend Bob Marley’s estate.
