By doing a “runner” while on compassionate leave to attend a family funeral, a Limerick remand prisoner had posed difficulties for others seeking similar treatment by the State, a judge said yesterday.

A TEENAGE first cousin of Limerick criminal Philip Collopy, who died late on Sunday night after accidentally shooting himself in the head, is to be given temporary release from prison to attend the funeral.
