THOMAS CHAMNEY leaves for Barcelona today, on the last leg of a carefully planned mission that should eventually take him to the final of the 1,500m at the European Championships in two weeks’ time.

The Norwich Union GB team will be hoping Marlon Devonish can at least repeat his 200metres bronze medal performance of four years ago when the European Championships continue today.
