Two Muslim officers accused of committing war crimes during the Bosnian war went on trial today, the highest-ranking Muslim suspects yet to face justice for atrocities in a conflict often seen as fomented by Serbs.

A day after convicting a Bosnian Serb of genocide for killing thousands of Muslims, the UN tribunal today unveiled indictments against three Bosnian Muslims for war crimes against Croats.
