Islamic insurgents posing as UN personnel detonated suicide car bombs in an African Union (AU) peacekeeping base in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

Heavy shelling and gunfire in Mogadishu have killed three people and wounded about 30 in the battle between government and rebel forces for Somalia’s capital, witnesses said.
