An international society conman jailed in Ireland after going on a spending spree with a stolen credit card and wanted in three countries is to face an extradition hearing within weeks, the High Court heard today.

A foreign national whose identity remains uncertain has been jailed for two years for burglary at a top Dublin hotel and use of a stolen credit card to buy luxury items at city centre jewellers.

A man believed by gardaí to be a Colombian wanted by authorities in England appeared in court in Dublin today under what an officer said was thought to be a false name.
