A six-year-old girl developed severe brain damage within hours of being admitted to the emergency department at Galway University Hospital suffering from low blood sugar, an inquest has heard.

A six-year-old girl was referred to hospital a number of times over a five-year period with vomiting and dehydration but no underlying cause had been established when she died, an inquest heard.
