Investors were braced for more turmoil today after continuing concerns over a global credit crunch led to overnight losses on US and Asian markets.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares saw an upward swing this morning after yesterday's bruising losses.

The FTSE 100 Index today looked set to fall below the 6,000 barrier after another night of turmoil for world markets.
