ISRAEL arrested more than 130 Palestinians in the West Bank city of Hebron yesterday, targeting Hamas as the Palestinian government awaited word on whether the Islamic militant group would agree to a ceasefire.

More than 100 Palestinians were arrested today when Israeli forces swept into the West Bank city of Hebron, the Israeli army said.

Terror group Hamas is expected to agree to a truce with Israel, perhaps even by the end of the day, Palestinian officials said.

Four Palestinian militants have been killed in northern Gaza, apparently when a bomb they were planting exploded prematurely.
