A suicide bomber killed four civilians in a crowd outside a police station today in the northern Iraqi city Tal Afar, police said.

Bomb attacks on markets in predominantly Shiite neighbourhoods of Baghdad killed at least 16 people, among 38 Iraqis killed or found dead across Iraq today in the latest outbreak of sectarian violence.

Baghdad and two restive Sunni provinces were today locked under 24-hour curfew in the wake of Saddam Hussein’s death sentence for crimes against humanity in Iraq.
