The family of a British tourist feared to have been shot dead in an ambush in the Australian outback are preparing to fly to the scene of the attack.

Police mounted a massive search with planes and Aborigine trackers in Australia’s northern desert today for a gunman after finding evidence that an abducted English tourist had been shot and killed.
