There were celebrations in Donoughmore with the news that James Healy, a founding member of the reformed local Macra club, had been elected the 36th national president of Macra na Feirme.

With just one hustings remaining, and ballot papers issued to clubs across the country, the race for 36th presidency of Macra na Feirme is well under way.

Hustings have been taking part across the country this month, offering members an opportunity to meet those contesting the presidential race.
