The Royal Cork Yacht Club has confirmed a number of changes to the biennial Volvo Cork Week, to be held again next July.

The sound of grinding teeth could almost be heard along the west coast over the past 24 hours as the fleet in the Round Ireland Race battled light winds that has upturned the standings in the 704-mile event.

As forecasts continue to indicate strong winds for the Irish Sea, the Race Committee for the BMW Round Ireland Race will continue to monitor Meteorological data overnight pending a decision whether to start the 704-mile race on time today from Wicklow Sailing Club.
