There's more gas off the coast of Co Mayo than originally estimated, according to an offshore sub-sea survey in the Corrib gas field.

The results of an offshore sub-sea survey show that there is more gas in the Corrib gas field than originally estimated.

Losses at Vermilion Energy, one of the Corrib gas field partners, last year rose by 50% to €30.8m.

A FURTHER €203 million has been written down in impairments in connection with the Corrib Gas Field project.
