I’M JUST back from Slow Food Terra Madre Salone Del Gusto 2018, the biggest international event dedicated to food — 1.2m people attended in 2016.

THE highlight of this past week was the visit of the founder of Slow Food International, Carlo Petrini, to Ireland. This organisation could be described as the Greenpeace of gastronomy — the antidote to fast food culture.

BORD BIA is to sponsor the world’s first University of Gastronomic Sciences to be established in Italy by the Slow Food movement, which has more than 80,000 consumers in 50 countries.
