IN SANTA CRUZ, 80 miles south of San Francisco, a lady decides to hop on her bike and head north.

WITNESSES to an incident which left a promising Irish GAA player fighting for his life in the US have told police the alleged attacker said “you won’t get up from that” as the victim lay on the ground.

San Francisco police are said to be investing the incident last Saturday which left Fermanagh Gaelic footballer Mark McGovern in a coma.

A young Gaelic footballer has been hospitalised in San Francisco and is reportedly 'in a critical condition' following an incident in a club match last Saturday.
