Up to now, Twitter required you to choose your words carefully whether you were writing your thoughts for the world to read or simply telling one person in private. But today, Twitter has put an end to the 140 character limit on Direct Messages.

Twitter has bought TweetDeck, a London-based start-up that helps people read, write and organise the short messages posted on the online network.
