Junior Cert students faced a tricky proposition with today's Maths Paper 2, according to teachers.

Higher level maths students faced an algebra-dominated paper without any financial maths, but it was easier and shorter than their mock exams, teachers say.

Students would have required stamina and concentration to get the best out of the Junior Cert Higher Level Maths Paper 1 exam.

The inclusion of questions of student opinion on higher level maths for Leaving Certificate students was among the main talking points outside exam halls at lunchtime yesterday.

Junior Certificate maths exams concluded yesterday morning and higher level students needed to be skilled at diagrams to do well.
