An al-Qaida-linked group posted an internet statement today claiming responsibility for the string of bombings that rocked London and killed at least 49 people, promising more attacks in London, which it described as the “capital of the infidels”.

A group calling itself The Secret Organisation of al-Qaida in Europe has posted a claim of responsibility for the series of blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain’s involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
