Post mortem examinations were being carried out today on the bodies of three young west Belfast men who died after taking what was thought to be a lethal cocktail of drink and drugs.

The Royal Ulster Constabulary will not oppose independent probes into controversial killings linked with the security forces, it was confirmed today.
