The West Cork town of Clonakilty has been shortlisted for a top international award which celebrates Europe’s ‘Great Places’.

The Academy of Urbanism in London has named Cork's Oliver Plunkett Street as the only Irish finalist in the The Great Street Award 2016.

Cork has reached the top 10 in The Academy of Urbanism's selection of contenders for the European City of the Year Award for 2009, announced today.
