Ireland’s reputation as a leading data storage centre has been enhanced with the opening of Telecity’s Blanchardstown facility in Dublin. The data centre adds to existing facilities here such as Google’s €75m investment in Dublin and a string of others in the pipeline from other multinationals.

EUROPE’s largest data centre provider, TelecityGroup, has acquired one of the leading players in the Irish market — Data Electronics — for £87.6 million (€101m) in cash.
