Ten food businesses were served with closure orders for breaches of food safety legislation last month.

A well-known fish and shellfish processing company forced staff to engage in dubious and appalling work practices, a recent hearing of the Employment Appeals Tribunal was told.

DUBLIN-based fish processor and exporter Rockabill Shellfish has bought a West Cork business premises, as part of an expansion move leading to 30 immediate extra jobs.
