SAS plans to cut 1,000 administrative jobs and double its cost-savings target as the Nordic airline prepares for rising fuel prices and intensifying competition.

Danske Bank reported a fourth-quarter net loss attributable to shareholders of 6.37bn kroner (€855m) after writing down 9bn kroner in goodwill in December.

THE owners of National Irish Bank, Danske Bank, the second-biggest Nordic lender by market value, may say profit declined in the third quarter after the bank booked losses on bad loans and as an expansion in Ireland and Finland boosted expenses.
