One of the larger service providers in the State for people with a disability, which faced the possible closure of some of its centres over serious concerns for residents, will now apply to register its newly reconfigured campus after a positive inspection report by health watchdog HIQA.

A residential centre for people with disabilities failed to protect them from abuse, the State’s health services watchdog has found.

Two centres for older people have been strongly criticised by the Health Information and Quality Authority (Hiqa) after a mealtime was found to be as short as two minutes and 20 seconds and a resident presented with signs of dehydration.
