A total of 290 property repossession cases came before the Cork County Registrar at the courthouse on Washington Street in the past month.

A MARRIED father-of-two has told the High Court of his hopes for part-time work this Christmas as he struggles to pay a €250,000 mortgage on the family home.

NINE repossession orders were granted at the High Court as the mounting effects of the credit crisis were starkly illustrated by the number of cases of people unable to meet their mortgage payments.
