The State’s national body tasked with developing services for victims of child sexual abuse has not met since October 2016.

One of the country’s main assessment units for children suspected of having been sexually abused is to track the possible role of social media after noticing a “trend” in the experiences of some victims.

SPECIAL investigators to determine whether children have been victims of sexual abuse have not been appointed by the HSE.
