FORMER IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn told police he had diplomatic immunity shortly after he was detained at a New York airport on accusations he tried to rape a hotel maid, court papers showed.

A two-year-old boy was removed from his family and his mother could face charges after the child gave his nursery teacher two packets of crack cocaine, and a search of his jacket pocket turned up nine more, police said.
