At least 10 people were killed when US forces dropped two tons of bombs on a purported militant safehouse in the Iraqi city of Fallujah, officials said today.

Thousands of Iraqi Kurds demonstrated today to demand the death sentence for Saddam Hussein and one of his key lieutenants – Ali Hassan al-Majid, also known as Chemical Ali – be put to death for the gas attack that killed 5,000 people in 1988.

COALITION sources claimed last night that Iraq’s second largest city had finally been secured, but Iraqi forces were believed to be still resisting coalition forces.
