ING, the biggest Dutch financial services company, raised €1.54bn from the sale of shares in its insurer NN, the second-biggest initial public offering in Europe this year.

Half of all pints pulled in Ireland are produced by Heineken the company said as they announced strong full-year earnings despite falling sales in Western Europe.

Share prices were lower in midday trade, pulled down by yesterday's FOMC comments, dealers said.
