Ireland last night launched an appeal against Cian Healy’s three-week ban, although it will not be in time to prevent him from missing Sunday’s RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland.

Not that Leinster picked him but after two days of confusion surrounding Cian Healy’s three-week suspension, RBS 6 Nations Championship organisers felt sufficiently moved yesterday to issueclarification on the matter.
