ENGLISH Premier League soccer champions Manchester United have filed a preliminary application with the Singapore Exchange for a planned listing, a source with direct knowledge of the deal said yesterday.

The main supplier of jet fuel to China is continuing to do business despite a criminal investigation of its €442.6m losses on derivative trading, the company said.

Singapore financial markets were rocked today after a Chinese jet-fuel supplier listed in the city-state said it had racked up €438m in losses on derivative trades and was seeking protection from its creditors.

Singapore Petroleum is to buy British Petroleum’s retail marketing business in Singapore and has conditionally agreed to buy BP’s stake in a liquefied petroleum gas venture, in a deal worth about £40m (€59.5m).
