A man jailed for falsely imprisoning an 11-year-old girl he “lifted” from a green area next to her hall door has moved to appeal against the severity of his 17-year sentence.

THE lobby at the Shandon Court hotel is relatively busy at 11am on Friday morning as guests line up at the front desk to check out and children chase each other down the stairs.
