An all-Ireland soccer team should take on England every two years to raise money for children, Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said.

A jury took only 17 minutes this afternoon to return a unanimous guilty verdict in the case against a middle-aged man who denied a charge of assault causing serious harm to Miah Dennehy - the former Republic of Ireland soccer player.

Former Ipswich and Northern Ireland forward Bryan Hamilton is adamant that a united Irish team could only be of benefit to the game on this island.
