British broadcaster ITV, formed this year by the merger of rivals Carlton and Granada, says it is on track to achieve £100m (€150.79m) of cost cuts identified by the end of 2005.

Sources have reported that ITV plc, the British commercial TV broadcaster, plans to tell staff at its Central TV offices in Birmingham and Nottingham that some 400 jobs will go, according to an industry source.
