IRISH investors suffered a double whammy yesterday, with the ISEQ starting the week with a fresh decline and new figures showing recent dramatic falls in domestic pension fund values.

Irish pension funds consolidated the gains made in February with a strong performance in March, with an average return of 5.8%, according to Rubicon Investment Consulting.

THE last three months proved to be the best performing quarter for Irish pension funds in the last 10 years.

THE worst January performance on the Irish stock market in six years has brought its 12-month loss to more than 27%.

IRISH pension funds are experiencing mixed fortunes this year with most making up February’s losses in March, to deliver average growth of just 1.2% over the first three months of the year.
