Trader in historic part of city says the area still has ‘huge potential’ but ‘is like the land that time forgot’

A major shopping street in the centre of Cork city has suffered a major blow after Dunnes Stores announced they are to close their store on North Main Street by the end of the month, writes Kelly O’Brien of the Evening Echo.

The Bishop of Cork and Ross paid tribute last night to the family behind a religious store which has closed after being part of the city’s fabric for 60 years.
