A woman was killed and a man seriously injured today after a suspected drunk driver mounted a footpath and ploughed into a group of people.

Over 100 balloons were released into the skies over Co Donegal today in a special ceremony remembering the victims of road traffic accidents throughout the country.

Victims of road accidents will be remembered across the country on Sunday.
