A murder accused told gardaí he feared his stepson would be killed by rival bikers, so he loaded a shotgun and went to a motorcycle clubhouse, where he shot a man dead.

The Central Criminal Court has heard that shotgun cartridges were found in the home of a Limerick man accused of murdering a rival member of a motorcycle club.

Gardaí have said the murder of a Limerick biker was recorded on security cameras, and the killing is linked to a “bitter feud” between rival motorcycle gangs.

A close friend of a man murdered in Limerick has described him as “a man of peace”.
