In the end, as with so many sailing regattas it was the weather that proved the final arbiter for Volvo Cork Week 2016. Thick mist outside Cork Harbour denied most of the racing classes their final day yesterday.

High winds might have forced the cancellation of yesterday’s practice race, but the forecast for this morning’s official start to Volvo Cork Week is promising and the weather is predicted to steadily improve as the series progresses.
