A CATHOLIC priest caught up in loyalist protests at Holycross Primary School in Belfast has been told he will be killed within days.

Northern Secretary John Reid has confirmed that he has held face-to-face talks with loyalist paramilitaries, despite declaring last year that the British government no longer recognises the UDA and LVF ceasefires.

A loyalist Assembly member for North Belfast today appealed to the Ulster Defence Association to rethink their strategy.
